Why do some Christians suffer in pain and poverty?

A brother in Christ asked: Why do some Christians suffer in pain and poverty? Response: All Christians go through pain in their life regardless of their income. It simply is called life. God never promises that our life will be perfect; He does promise that all things will work for the good of those who love Him (Roman 8:28). Sometimes Christians were born into poverty. Other times they placed themselves there with bad choices. Other times they chose to be poor to live a simple life. Other times God led them there to help a certain people group. It's important to recognize everyone is different and so I don’t choose to generalize all Christians. Some of my favorite quotes are: “Sometimes the devil will let you have whatever you want so you won’t need God.” C.s Lewis said “God whispers to us in our pleasures but He shouts to us in our pain.” Someone wise once said, “We don’t change when we see the light but when we feel the heat.” I will not cause pain without allowin
